Presentation of a Slovak Crèche to
the Oratory's Museum - Montréal, Québec, Canada
September 7, 1996

Christmas is the biggest holiday of the year for the Slovaks. They celebrate it in a traditional way. In its honor they composed countless carols, well wishes and theatrical skits that the youth in villages presents from house to house. In churches and in residences, under richly decorated Christmas trees, the Nativity scene is always present. In all their poetic musical and artistic manifestations, people brought the story of Bethlehem to the hills and meadows of Slovakia.
