The Calendar

The Calendar in Slovak life is a constant reminder of both time and place for Slovaks.  Each day of the week in a year is special because Slovaks assign name days to honour each persons' name. As such the calendars are used throughout the year to know when each persons name is celebrated, and the historical significance of a specific day  to the Slovak people  In addition, the Calendar was  also a physical book that came in the form shown here, and it acted as a yearbook, a daytimer, an almanac, and a source for spiritual and individual  inspiration.
