Phrases:
A travel companion

Travelling for pleasure or business is something we all view with both a sense of adventure and a sense of dread.  The adventure comes through the new life experiences, new friends and the new stories  we will have to talk about when we get back.  The sense of dread comes from the anxiety of meeting new people and cultures that we do not totally comprehend, understand or are prepared to adequately interact with.  This section is designed to alleviate some of those travel trepidations, by enriching our vocabulary so that we can handle ourselves while speaking Slovak in restaurants, banks, stores, tourist agencies, post offices as well as dealing with everyday problems that may arise when we travel in a country where we should not expect the hosts to speak English.

Please Note: This section of the Slovak Language site is very bandwith intensive, where  you can expect to wait up to 3 minutes for a whole phrase to download and play on your computer.  There is nothing wrong with our server so do not re-click on a phrase, it will just take that much longer to download.  In order to get the full benefits  this section has to offer, you may need to upgrade the speed of your Internet bandwith or you may wish to purchase the CD version of this Slovak Language site.  The cost is $25.00 per CD and you will then have an instantaneous response time.
